When you’re passionate about something, it’s easy to stay focused. You can keep doing the same thing over and over again, and you won’t mind it. However, if you don’t feel passionate about something, it will not make you happy even if you succeed. The problem right now is that there are things you might love doing, but you can’t. For instance, you might be passionate about outdoor adventure and even family travelling.
Due to this virus, travelling to other places and having fun activities might be impossible. You can’t even go to local stores, and some of them don’t operate normally. After a while, you might find yourself lacking motivation. Before you give up, you have to understand that you don’t have to feel that way. There are things you can do to stay motivated even if your actions get limited by various restrictions.
Talk to people who share the same interests
You’re probably not the only one who starts feeling that way right now. Others also share the same passion as you and are unable to do what they want. Talking to them will make things feel better. You know that someone else is having a hard time, and you can go through it together. You might even want to take this chance to look back at your experiences in life. You can even plan what to do in the future should things get better.
Find something else to do
Just because you can’t do activities you love, such as hiking, doesn’t mean you can’t be passionate about something else. You might realize that there’s something you feel interested in, and it’s time to try it. The good thing is that if you can do that activity at home, you will find a reason to be passionate again. During this quarantine, some people learned how to cook, repair broken items at home, or even took a new course in different areas of expertise. It’s great to be passionate about something, but you can be passionate about many things.
Go on a vacation
Travelling to other places isn’t possible, but you can still have a staycation. You can look for party houses to rent and enjoy the place for a few days. If you can’t do something you love, a staycation will make you forget it. You will feel relaxed and not stress out anymore. You might even realize you want to try something else the moment you head back home. You’re at the height of emotions right now, and a break is necessary.
Be patient
Things might not be where you want them to be right now, but this will eventually end. Just hang on and be patient. You can go back to doing the thing you love soon. For now, you have to follow health guidelines and try to make the most of the situation.
Staying motivated is challenging, and it’s even more difficult during this time. Stay optimistic and find something that you can be happy doing.
